Explore your professional and personal interests this summer through the SHECP Summer Internship Program, a community-focused learning experience. SHECP’s rewarding, eight-week program pairs motivated students with nonprofit organizations that work to diminish poverty in communities across the country.

This opportunity is open to students from member institutions in all majors and career paths. If accepted, you will be matched with an agency that best fits your interests. Located in urban and rural sites, interns focus on a wide variety of poverty-related areas, including: Community & Individual Services; Education & Youth Outreach; Health & Wellness; and Law & Business.

Beyond gaining valuable work experience, you will receive training as part of the Internship Academy, attend networking events in your area, hear from innovative and dynamic leaders doing anti-poverty work, and live as a cohort with fellow interns who are working within the community you serve. SHECP provides housing, travel to the Annual Conference, and a stipend to support living expenses.
