A Live SHECP Talks Event
On Tuesday, March 4th at 12pm ET, Christa Moore (UVA Wise) joined Ellen Prusinski (Centre College) to discuss her new book — Gendered Power in Child Welfare: What's Care Got to Do with It? Moore's book, co-authored by Patricia Gagné, examines Kentucky's child welfare system, its institutional shortcomings, and possible solutions.

“Even though my research was focused on Kentucky, the issues and challenges my research identified are everywhere. They're system issues. That's why I hope the book translates broadly, at a regional and national level,” said Moore in UVA Wise article.
This event was open to the entire SHECP community and is applicable to a wide audience — from students to sociologists to practitioners working with families experiencing poverty.
